As a 5ft 1 British Indian woman who has always lived between cultures — and often between clothes that never quite fit — getting dressed once felt like a constant compromise. Trousers were always too long, tops overwhelmed my proportions, and dresses rarely fell in the right places to truly flatter my body. Beyond fit, I struggled to find clothing that felt thoughtful — not only in design, but in purpose and impact. Being shaped by both British and Indian influences, I wanted more than clothes that simply “worked.” I wanted pieces that felt intentional — in proportion, in style, and in the way they could seamlessly exist within my wardrobe and lifestyle.

Studying fashion helped me define both my vision and the clear gap within the industry for petite-focused design. To me, petite has never meant small or skinny. Petite is about proportion.
